William "Bill" Weston Holley, Jr.
February 16, 1941 - January 24, 2011


will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2011 in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Monday evening 3 to 9 p.m. and the family will recieve friends from 6 to 8 p.m.


On February 16, 1941, in Columbia, South Carolina, the late William Weston Holley, Sr. and Sarah Holley Squire welcomed the birth of a son whom they named William Weston Holley, Jr.

During his early years, “Bill” attended Booker T. Washington High School. He later met and married, Paula Reese Holley and this union was blessed with two sons, David and Paul Holley.

He worked as a Maintenance Chassis Engineer for the MTA New York City Transit Authority and retired after many years of diligent service.

Though William was a resident of New York, his roots remain steeped in tradition and a rich legacy in Columbia, SC and surrounding areas. In 1917, his grandparents William S. Holley and Katherine Weston Holley formed the Holley and Sons Funeral Home. Later renamed J.P. Holley Funeral Home and Today we pay homage to William Weston Holley, Jr. by welcoming the fourth generation of J.P. Holley Funeral Home to assist in this farewell tribute.

He was preceded in death by his father, William W. Holley, Sr. and his younger brother, Louis M. Holley.

Those left to cherish fond memories are: his wife of forty-eight years, Paula, two sons; David Holley and Paul (Jennifer) Holley; grandson, Paul Holley, Jr.; his Mother Sarah Holley Squire; sister Janice (Nelson) Squire; brothers; Edward (Victoria)Reese; William (Valerie) Reese, Joe (Linda) Bodwick; Andrew (Mahalia) Barker; sister-in-law; Eartha Reese; seven nieces, one nephew, three grand nieces, five grand nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
